Employment Specialist Role

Southdown's Work and Wellbeing Service in West Sussex is seeking a dedicated Employment Specialist to support individuals with mental health conditions in achieving their employment goals. As a key member of our team, you will work in partnership with Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust and co-locate within clinical teams, with some remote and community-based working.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of clients in structured treatment for varied mental health issues to assist them in securing sustainable paid employment in line with their preferences.
  • Deliver the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model, providing person-centred guidance to clients, while building positive relationships with local employers to enable clients to move into suitable employment.
  • Work as part of the Secondary Mental Health Care team in the adult treatment service, maintaining positive and integrated relationships, fostering a holistic approach to recovery through employment.
Requirements:
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt your approach to meet the differing needs of clients.
  • Understanding of the importance of work in the lives of individuals with mental health conditions.
