Head of Mechanical Design and Innovation

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Mechanical Design to join our Andretti Cadillac team at our Silverstone facility. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to our mechanical design group, ensuring the development of high-performance cars that meet our technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Team Leadership: Manage and lead the Mechanical Design Team, providing guidance and support to senior designers to achieve our design goals.
- Design and Development: Ensure that the car's suspension and mechanical systems meet our technical requirements, preparing schemes for analysis and detail design.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to mechanical designers, ensuring best design practices are achieved and providing guidance on technical matters.
- Manufacturing Support: Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure that our designs are feasible and efficient to produce.
- Future Car Development: Work with other Heads of Design departments to develop future car designs, ensuring that they meet our performance and delivery targets.
- Sustainability: Champion sustainable manufacturing practices that do not compromise car performance.
- Experience: Multiple years of experience in the motorsport industry, preferably in suspension design for Formula One.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills, with experience in technical management and team development.
- Technical Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of mechanical manufacturing, materials, and analysis.
- Communication Skills: Clear and concise communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- IT Skills: Strong IT skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Culture Fit: Ability to positively contribute to an open and inclusive culture.
