As a Catering Manager for Sodexo, you will oversee the entire food and beverage operation at your school. Your responsibilities include managing the kitchen's finances, ensuring high-quality service and food, and leading a team of cooks and support staff.   • You will be responsible for managing the replenishment of food and cleaning up the kitchen after service.
  • You will develop, mentor, train, and inspire the kitchen team to provide exceptional service and food quality.
  • You will control all aspects of the catering operation, including labor, food, and stock expenses.
  • You will optimize costs under your control to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • You will ensure that uniform standards are maintained in food quality and service across the school.
  • You will design and implement menus that cater to diverse tastes and dietary requirements.
  • You will conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for daily travel between sites.
  • Proven expertise in large-scale cooking, handling volumes between 100-1300 students.
  • Experience following recipes and working in similar environments.
  • Prior experience in supervising or managing staff, preferably in a culinary setting.
  • Familiarity with fresh produce and ingredients.
  • Awareness of health and safety procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Professional demeanor, with a positive attitude and strong leadership skills.
  • Basic food handling skills certification (NVQ Level 2, Level 2 Food Safety Certificate, or equivalent).
