About the Role:

Ctsrecruit are seeking an experienced Reliable Equipment Technician to join their team in Preston. This is a full-time role that offers excellent opportunities for career development.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical maintenance, with experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. A good understanding of electrical maintenance, including PLC fault finding, would be beneficial.

This is a shift-based role working 4 on 4 off (2 days 6AM-6PM + 2 nights 6PM-6AM). The successful candidate will need to be time served with a demonstrable background in mechanical maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all equipment is in a safe and serviceable condition to maintain and enhance the performance of all machinery.
  • Respond to machine failures and breakdowns, reducing engineering downtime.
  • Assist with all on-site installations and undertake projects as required.
  • Communicate effectively with management and colleagues.
  • Prioritise work within the engineering department and deploy resources accordingly.
  • Identify training needs or 'weak spots' within the department.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working within a maintenance role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrable background in mechanical maintenance.
  • Familiarity with Siemens PLCs.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems including conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, and pumps.
