As an Employment Legal Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in providing pragmatic, solution-focused employment law advice across the organisation, particularly in the context of TUPE matters, Employment Tribunal claims, and complex employee relations matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clear, concise advice on a wide range of employment law matters, including TUPE, ACAS, and Employment Tribunal claims, while ensuring alignment with company values and legal requirements.
  • Draft and review employment-related documents, such as contracts, HR policies and handbooks, ensuring they meet legal standards, whilst reflecting the company tone and values.
  • Manage and advise on employment litigation matters, working with external counsel as needed to achieve favourable outcomes.
  • Lead and manage employment law projects, providing timely and business-focused legal advice that supports company goals and drives commercial success.
  • Offer training and guidance to HR and business teams on employment law, internal policies, and best practices.
  • Work closely with other legal and business teams to support cross-border employment issues, particularly within EMEA.

Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer with 3+ years of post-qualification experience in employment law across UK and EMEA.
  • Strong knowledge of TUPE, Employment Tribunal procedures, UK/EMEA employment law and experience applying IR35 regulations (focusing on employment law, status assessments, and compliance).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and geographies.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in working with an e-money and payments business with an enthusiasm for innovation in technology.
  • Highest standards of ethics and professional integrity.
