Sewell Wallis is partnering with a dynamic Rotherham-based business to find an experienced HR Manager to join their team on a three-day-a-week basis.

Job Summary:

This is a new role that offers great scope to build an HR function and work closely with the Management team to develop a people strategy that supports the company's continued growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to maintain legal and ethical standards and ensure a fair and compliant workplace.
  • Work closely with the Senior Management Team and Operational Managers to develop an appropriate HR strategy to support the development of the company.
  • Pro-actively liaise with managers to discuss recruitment needs and support the Leadership Team with recruitment, including drafting job descriptions, tracking vacancies against budget, filtering all responses, conducting initial interviews, and organizing the whole interview process to completion, including feedback and offers.
  • Deal with day-to-day operational HR issues and support Directors and Managers in managing any ER issues, including absence management, flexible working requests, and conduct exit interviews as required.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to create a work environment that supports employees' physical and mental well-being and enforce policies that prevent discrimination and promote equal opportunities for all employees.
  • Review benefits and rewards packages alongside the Directors to ensure cost-effectiveness and value and ensure systems are in place and correctly operated to maintain compliance with all employment laws and regulations.
  • Support and enhance the performance management planning process, ensuring fair and equitable processes are put in place that are adhered to across the business.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in HR matters, including implementation of new policies and procedures, and a strong knowledge of employment laws.
  • CIPD level 5 or above.
  • Experience in recruitment and managing the full employee journey from selection through on-boarding, probation periods, engagement, and training to exit at the end of the relationship.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, together with ethical judgment and adaptability.
