Senior Support Assistant Job Description

The estimated salary for this position is £22,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Job Title: Senior Support Assistant.
  • Location: Chilton Meadows Care Home.

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and caring individual to join our team as a Senior Support Assistant. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing person-centered care to residents, promoting independence and dignity at all times.
  • Supporting with clinical duties, including assisting the nurse to observe, issue medication, review care plans, and maintain accurate record keeping.
  • Managing a team of Care Assistants, including responsibility for all shift handovers.
  • Helping with training and supervision of new staff members to ensure they feel welcomed and supported.
  • Building relationships with residents, their families, and external teams such as GPs and District Nurses.
  • Assisting residents with a range of personal care duties.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 6 months' experience working in a care setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to provide person-centered care.
