Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Design Engineer to join our team at Dalkia. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for control panels, primarily focused on PLCs, MCCs, drives, and controls, as well as switchgear.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems for control panels, including PLCs, MCCs, drives, and controls, as well as switchgear.
  • Prepare and review calculations and designs to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop technical solutions that meet project and customer expectations.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of relevant safety and environmental legislation, including BS7671 IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and IEC BS EN 61439-1.
  • Work with production teams to ensure designs are implemented effectively and efficiently.
  • Develop and mentor junior engineers and technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Degree-level education in a relevant subject or HND with additional experience in project implementation.
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical, Microsoft Office, and other relevant software.
  • Ability to achieve security clearance to at least SC level, and possibly DV.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor and develop engineers and technicians.
  • Confidence to work within a multidisciplinary design team and lead by example.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a highly regulated industry.
  • Understanding of EMC practices and ability to develop solutions that meet regulatory requirements.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineering status, or working towards it.
  • MEng qualification and advanced written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Flexibility in working methods and ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines.
