About the Role
The Security Officer - Estate Protection is accountable to the Operations Manager. This role involves working on a variable shift rota between 06:00 to 18:00, 56 hours per week. The successful candidate will ensure exemplary standards of security and customer service are provided to the Business Manager/Operations Manager, Tenants, and visitors to the estate at all times. As the public face of the security team, the Security Officer must act with professionalism always, demonstrating a flexible can-do attitude in this highly influential role.
Scope of Role:
- To be part of a team in a roster pattern, working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the effective delivery of security services.
- To interact with all visitors/tenants within the buildings, delivering a world-class customer-focused service that meets the highest standards of professionalism and courtesy.
- Carry out regular patrols of the estate as detailed in the security assignment instructions, being proactive and always following the company security strategy.
- Ensure compliance with all company procedures, processes, and external bodies, including enforcement agencies and audit bodies.
- Respond promptly and effectively to all security issues and events, taking a proactive approach to maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Act professionally, pleasantly, and courteously at all times while carrying out duties, adhering to the highest standards of personal grooming and site uniform requirements.
- To ensure that the estate is a safe and non-threatening environment for all visitors/tenants.
- Manage incidents in accordance with company and estate policies and procedures, ensuring that all necessary steps are taken to resolve issues promptly and effectively.
- Liaise with the Business Manager/Operations Manager and neighboring security teams, proactively reacting to incidents and ensuring colleagues are fully briefed and supported.
- To deal efficiently and effectively with emergencies, including protecting activity, fire, and bomb scares, ensuring that the onsite team and client are always kept fully informed.
- Display an intelligent understanding of human behavior, monitoring and surveillance of suspect individuals, logging and reporting incidents in line with company and estate policies.
- To provide regular liaison and timely feedback, reporting any events that may be detrimental to the fulfillment of the provision of security to the Soft Services Manager.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate clearly and credibly with management, tenants, the public, and all staff.
- Able to demonstrate an outgoing personality and ability to communicate with the public in a customer-focused and engaging role.
- Capable of working unsupervised and taking responsibility, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Able to attend work in line with shift pattern through own transport or public transport, with the ability to be flexible with shift start and finish times.
- Intermediate IT skills required.
