We are seeking a highly skilled Medicines Optimisation Specialist to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This exciting opportunity will enable you to utilise your expertise in medicines management to drive cost savings across our healthcare system.
Job OverviewThis role is an ideal fit for individuals with a strong background in pharmacy and experience in medicines optimisation. As a Medicines Optimisation Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the Pharmacy Homecare Service Manager and Best Value Medicines and Biologics Group in implementing cost-effective procurement and delivery of Homecare medicines and services.
Main Responsibilities- To work collaboratively with clinical pharmacists and homecare providers to implement cost-saving initiatives and promote the economic use of medicines.
- To provide Senior Pharmacy Technician support to all homecare services, with a special interest in areas relating to the Best Value Medicines and Biologics Group.
- To maintain a locally adapted database for resources to support clinical teams with switches.
- To be the liaison between clinical teams and homecare providers and support the transition of patients to best value and most cost-effective medicines.
As a member of our team, you will contribute to ensuring high standards quality of pharmaceutical care for patients while driving cost savings across the healthcare system.
