About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Functional Safety Engineer to join our team at Oxa Autonomy. As a key member of our safety engineering team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our autonomous vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop innovative safety engineering approaches to address current and emerging challenges in autonomous vehicle safety.
  • Ensure that our products are developed in accordance with relevant safety standards, including ISO 26262 and ISO/DIS 21448.
  • Provide input and help develop the safety engineering process and related activities, covering the concept phase, system and software product development.
  • Define and implement the verification and validation strategy for system safety, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Plan, track, and report safety achievements of assigned projects and generate safety cases.
  • Perform safety analyses at the system and software levels using relevant engineering methods, such as FTA, FMEA, STPA, and DFA.
  • Derive and define safety requirements and support the creation of test cases and validation criteria.
  • Coordinate and manage safety requirements from customers or to suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Support cross-functional teams on safety engineering subjects.
  • Support internal or external safety assessments/audits.
Requirements
  • A solid understanding and passion for safety.
  • Proven experience in the implementation of functional safety and/or SOTIF.
  • Proven experience working in the fields of safety engineering and autonomous vehicle operations.
  • Good knowledge and expertise on the state of the art and relevant safety standards, including ISO 26262, PAS 21448, and ISO TS 5083.
  • Good communication skills on technical subjects to a variety of audiences at different technical levels.
  • Collaborative and proactive communication approach.
