About the Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced individual to fill the role of Shift Leader at Tesco. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the store's daily operations, ensuring that customers receive exceptional service and that the store is always well-presented.

With a strong focus on leadership and teamwork, you will work closely with the store team to deliver an easy, fuss-free shopping experience for customers. You will also be responsible for supporting your colleagues, ensuring they deliver daily priorities and take regular breaks.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to motivate and lead a team, and possess a strong understanding of retail operations. A salary of £14.28 per hour (increasing to £15.41 for stores inside the M25) will be provided, along with opportunities for career development and advancement within the company.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the store team to deliver an easy, fuss-free shopping experience for customers
  • Support colleagues, ensuring they deliver daily priorities and take regular breaks
  • Open and close the store, completing duty cover and ensuring all decisions made are right for everyone's safety
  • Be the go-to person for colleagues in the absence of a manager for day-to-day queries
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-presented store
