Key Responsibilities:
The SEN Teaching Assistant will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs, ranging from autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to ADHD and other learning difficulties. This role will involve supporting across the school, in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Responsibilities include:
- Providing 1:1 and group support, adapting learning activities to meet individual needs
- Building confidence and encouraging students to develop socially, emotionally, and academically
- Collaborating with teachers and parents to ensure holistic support for each student
- Using creativity to deliver engaging and innovative lessons through sensory, academic, and physical activities
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a Level 2 or 3 certificate in supporting teaching and learning in schools or equivalent relevant experience. They will also possess a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN, patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to different situations. A creative approach to problem-solving and engaging students is essential, as is strong communication skills and a commitment to teamwork.
