The Climate & Nature Manager role sits within the Sustainable Development Team and requires someone passionate about nature, biodiversity, and carbon. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality nature restoration and carbon offsetting investment schemes centrally and wider sustainability agenda for the entire Private Group.

The Role

The Climate & Nature Manager has dual responsibilities: managing and leading project teams on high-quality nature-led carbon offset projects and supporting wider sustainable development initiatives across their THRIVE strategy – Climate, Waste, Water, People, and Communities.

You will oversee newly invested projects to meet ambitious climate goals, generate long-term carbon removal credits, and work in partnership with specialist contractors. Additionally, you will collaborate with operating companies and central functions to advance the sustainability agenda.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, develop, and manage suitable high-quality nature-based carbon offset projects.
  • Track progress against desired principles, reporting periodically to senior stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality papers advancing the sustainability agenda, such as target development, project progress, carbon targets, and wider sustainability topics.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and developments within the sustainability arena relating to nature, biodiversity, and carbon.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in environmental science, sustainability, sciences, carbon finance, or business/project management.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in a sustainability-related field, preferably from a large, complex international organisation.
  • Understanding of carbon offsetting and biodiversity markets, certification methodologies, project development, and financial fundamentals.
  • Good financial acumen with experience in project management, budgeting, and analysis.

This exciting opportunity offers a competitive salary and generous benefits package, including a bonus and healthy pension. The estimated annual salary for this position is around £60,000 - £80,000, depending on experience.
