Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Haringey Primary School. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of students in Key Stage 1.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Classroom Teachers: Collaborate with experienced teachers to deliver engaging lessons and activities that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Provide Individual Support: Offer one-on-one support to students, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their academic and personal goals.
  • Classroom Management: Assist in maintaining a safe and organized learning environment, ensuring that students feel comfortable and motivated to learn.
  • Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to teachers, helping to inform instruction and improve student outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Curriculum Knowledge: Possess a good understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and its application in a primary school setting.
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 months of experience as a Teaching Assistant in a UK-based educational setting is essential.
  • Qualifications: A Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification is desirable.
  • References: Verifiable references from previous employers or placements are required.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective collaboration with teachers, students, and parents.
  • Passion for Education: A genuine passion for education and a commitment to supporting the learning journey of students is essential.
