Job Purpose

RES is seeking a highly skilled HV Senior Authorised Person to join our team and contribute to the growth and improvement of our High Voltage Operations and Maintenance (HV O&M) Services in the UK & Ireland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety requirements and maintain high safety standards.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in Senior Authorised Person status at increasing voltages.
  • Undertake switching, isolation, and earthing duties, as well as acting as Control Engineer.
  • Prepare and issue safety documents, switching schedules, and method statements.
  • Manage the interface between system boundaries with site and DNO/NGT as required.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and fault-finding on RES controlled plant/equipment.
  • Deliver Competent Person Training and inductions for sub-contractors.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, including DNO/NGT and asset owners.
  • React to emergencies, site outages, and changing circumstances.
Requirements
  • Essential:
    • HV Safe Systems of Work knowledge.
    • Knowledge of key legislation underpinning UK high voltage electrical asset operation and maintenance.
    • Detailed knowledge of UK industry HV electrical safety rules.
    • Detailed knowledge of HV equipment.
    • HV maintenance practices, including HSG230.
  • Desirable:
    • Knowledge of offshore working.
Qualifications
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Previously held SAP authorisation under high voltage electrical safety rules at 400KV.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or CITB SMSTS or equivalent.
