We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing tailored support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in Ellesmere Port and Halton.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with teachers to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
- Support students in their learning both inside and outside the classroom.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging student engagement and independence.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
- Help with personal care needs where necessary, ensuring the safety and well-being of students at all times.
- Participate in school activities, trips, and extracurricular programs as required.
- Experience working with children or young adults with SEN in an educational setting.
- A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with additional needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Knowledge of various SEN conditions and strategies to support learning and development.
- Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant Certificate, or equivalent, are desirable but not essential.
- An enhanced DBS check registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
