Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and committed Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a good and outstanding graded Primary school in Deptford, Central London.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide 1-2-1 support to a KS2 boy with ASD, working closely with the class teacher and other support staff to ensure the student's needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to the student with ASD, helping them to access the curriculum and participate in class activities.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other support staff to develop and implement strategies to support the student's learning and behavior.
  • Assist with the student's daily routine, including breaks and lunchtime.
  • Communicate effectively with the student, their family, and other professionals involved in their care.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with ASD is desirable, but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • First aid training and experience working with children with special needs is an advantage.
