Senior Practitioner in Child Welfare
As a Youth Support Specialist, you will be part of a dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about providing high-quality social work services. Your primary focus will be on supporting vulnerable young people, aged 0-18, who are in care or at risk of becoming looked-after. You will work closely with colleagues to assess need, plan, and deliver targeted interventions that promote positive outcomes for these young people.
You will be required to conduct assessments, develop observations, and gather information from children, families, and other agencies. You will also devise, implement, and review Child in Care plans and pathway plans, ensuring that all statutory responsibilities are met. In addition, you will act as a role model and mentor to less experienced colleagues, contributing to training initiatives and maintaining your awareness of changes in child development theories, legislation, policies, and practices.
Kent County Council offers a competitive salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also benefit from a range of professional development opportunities, including the Social Care Academy and other routes for progression.
The successful candidate will have excellent leadership skills, a proven track record of delivering good outcomes for children and young people, and a good understanding of child development theories, legislation, policies, and practices. If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people and are looking for a challenging and rewarding career, we encourage you to apply.
