Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Forklift Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As an apprentice, you will complete a 4-year apprenticeship qualification in Lift Truck and Powered Access Engineering Technician Apprenticeship standard. During this time, you will gain on-the-job experience, starting with shadowing your mentor and other engineers, progressing to performing tasks under supervision, then alongside qualified engineers where your work will be checked and signed off.

Salary and Benefits
The estimated salary for this role is £18,500 in Year 1, progressing each year to £28,000 in Year 4, subject to satisfactory performance. You will also receive a brand-new stocked toolbox, company uniform and PPE, float to pay for travel expenses for attending training, and Briggs Boost benefit scheme offering discounts for purchases from high street stores.

Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need to have a strong enthusiasm for all aspects of engineering, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and basic knowledge of health and safety principles. You should also have basic IT skills, able to manage and prioritize your own workload, work to deadlines under pressure, and communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.

As an apprentice, you will receive extensive training through Briggs Academy and OEM partners, and the opportunity to attend an Outward Bound experience. Upon successful completion of the 4-year programme and subject to satisfactory performance, you will be considered for a permanent contract as a fully qualified engineer with starting salary expectations c.£30k+ dependent on location. We encourage internal progression, and many of our colleagues have progressed to senior roles within the company.
