BioTalent is seeking a permanent Senior Automation Engineer to join their team in the United Kingdom.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing SOPs and other documentation related to Process Control Systems throughout the operational lifecycle. They will also respond promptly to reports of manufacturing system issues, troubleshoot in collaboration with the Manufacturing team and other engineering disciplines, manage third-party vendors, and develop/implementation of hardware and software solutions in compliance with SOPs/the site's Automation Policy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing SOPs and other documentation related to Process Control Systems
  • Troubleshooting manufacturing system issues
  • Managing third-party vendors
  • Developing and implementing hardware and software solutions

The ideal candidate will have proficient knowledge of PLC-based unit operations, including graphical interfaces and data collection, with knowledge of integrated process control for both batch and continuous production systems. They will also have hands-on experience with Siemens or Rockwell products such as PCS7, WinCC, Studio 5000, and FT View SE.

A competitive package is on offer for this role, which is estimated to be around £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Proficient knowledge of PLC-based unit operations
  • Hands-on experience with Siemens or Rockwell products
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
