Area Sales Manager

As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and developing existing accounts within the North West, Midlands, and Wales regions. Your primary focus will be on the Resin Flooring Market, where you will identify and secure new business opportunities.

  • Develop and implement a business plan to maximize sales, volumes, and profit.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to key stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Flooring Contractors and Specifiers.
  • Visit and develop existing accounts, as well as identify new business opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain solid relationships both internally and externally.
  • Provide expert advice on Flooring systems and our product line.
  • Handle customer complaints and claims effectively.
  • Understand customer needs and translate them into cost-effective specifications.
  • Organize trials, training, and demos to support Flooring projects.
  • Provide advance information on product demand.
  • Negotiate term contracts for supplies.
  • Negotiate price increases as advised by the business.
  • Ensure price increases are adhered to and margin is protected.
  • Liaise with colleagues in customer service to develop existing customer relationships.
  • Ensure internal reporting and tracking mechanisms are utilized.
  • Maintain accurate records and files.
  • Develop a team culture within your own team and across the Company.
  • Produce servicing plans for new and existing business.
  • Analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and threats.
  • Coordinate monthly demand forecasts and identify major fluctuations.
  • Conduct ongoing SWOT analysis and make necessary budgetary adjustments.
  • Provide monthly update reports on progress, losses, market conditions, and competitor activity.
  • Work with the project development team to ensure the region is prepared to secure all available projects.
  • Support ASM's in the execution of their function and set a role model example.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Degree desirable.
  • A level or equivalent, degree desirable.
  • Experience in the flooring industry, specifically resins technology.

Knowledge:

  • Resin Flooring knowledge essential.
  • Sales Management skills.
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SFDC).

Personal Qualities and Behaviors:

  • Team player.
  • Focus on results.
  • Demonstrate good levels of numeracy and literacy, as well as good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, a good team player, and possess good planning, organizational, and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Build customer relationships and present logical and coherent arguments.
  • Experience in a sales role within a resin flooring or similar environment, with experience of the customer base in the relevant market area.
  • Valid driving license.
