IT Infrastructure Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Infrastructure Manager to oversee the operation and strategic development of our IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will have a strong background in IT services management, ideally within an educational environment, and be able to form strong relationships with key stakeholders.
The role involves managing a small team responsible for day-to-day service delivery, strategic planning, and technical operations. The Trust uses an ITIL based approach to service management, supporting around 600 users with Windows PCs and iPads. Infrastructure is based on Microsoft Active Directory, MS Exchange, and MS Office 365 Cloud services.
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of modern infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers, and enterprise SAN storage. They will also have knowledge of standard networking concepts and implementation, including routing, VLAN, and VoIP telephony. Additionally, they will understand typical methods for securing the network perimeter and have experience with enterprise class backup solutions.
The successful applicant will be conversant with information security management principles and practice, such as ISO 27001, and be able to apply appropriate security tools and techniques to sound risk assessments. They will also have experience with DR planning and be able to ensure that systems are resilient, highly available, and can be recovered in the event of a disaster.
