About the Role

Austin Fraser is seeking an experienced Fire and Security Engineer to join our team in the South Yorkshire area. The role involves installation, servicing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems and security systems, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation, servicing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems, including conventional and addressable alarms
  • Service and maintenance of intruder alarms and associated security systems
  • Fault finding and troubleshooting on fire and security systems
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and codes of practice (e.g., BS5839, EN50131)
  • Carrying out system commissioning and upgrades
  • Customer-facing role, providing professional support and guidance
  • Completing all relevant documentation and reporting as required
Experience and Qualifications Required
  • Proven experience as a Fire and Security Engineer, with a strong background in the installation and maintenance of fire alarm systems and intruder alarms
  • Knowledge of fire alarm systems (e.g., conventional and addressable) and security systems (e.g., intruder alarms)
  • Experience working with industry standards such as BS5839, EN50131
  • Certification in fire alarm systems (e.g., FIA or equivalent)
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent) is highly desirable
  • Full UK driving license
  • Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working Hours
  • Standard working hours are 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday
