(Vertex Search are working with an elite systematic trading firm that is looking to hire Quantitative Researchers into the organisation at various experience levels.

This role will report to the Head of Research and the successful candidate will work alongside the existing team of ~10 researchers. The team is looking for quants to help them expand their understanding of market dynamics, build out their quantitative trading systems and perform signal research.

Researchers work with large, complex datasets and have the freedom to explore their own ideas whilst working collaboratively with others. New starters will receive close mentoring and training from world-class Researchers as they develop their skills. Experienced Quants will also assist with mentoring as well as portfolio construction & optimisation responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in a quantitative subject, ideally mathematics, physics, economics or similar. A Master's degree in a STEM subject with relevant commercial experience will also be considered.

They should have a demonstrable interest in global financial markets, evidenced by internships or commercial experience. Some fluency in a programming language of choice (Python is used for research) is also required.

The successful candidate will be able to apply technical skills in order to understand complex market forces and create robust future predictions. They should be enthusiastic for working in a growing team with a high level of collaboration across the entire end-to-end trading system. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are also essential.

Portfolio construction / portfolio optimisation and prior signal research experience is a bonus.
