We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health Manager to join our team at Bakkavor Desserts in Newark, Nottinghamshire.
About the Role:The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and executing a behavioural safety programme, mentoring and coaching front-line teams, and managing the SHE Advisor to ensure effective performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring all Health, Safety, and Environment legal requirements, policies, standards, and procedures are interpreted, communicated, documented, and systems exist to ensure the Business Unit is compliant with current legislation and Bakkavor policy regarding SHE.
- Developing, implementing, maintaining, communicating, and continuously improving the Health, Safety, and Environment management system for the business.
- Designing, implementing, monitoring, and reporting site SHE performance, analysing trends, and developing action plans to deliver site targets regarding SHE.
- Identifying and coordinating SHE training and development for managers, enabling effective management of SHE in every respect.
- Monitoring site risk assessment process and providing assistance/advice to site assessors to ensure site risk assessments/safe systems of work are maintained and meet regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma or equivalent level 5 or 6 qualification in H&S & Environment, as well as:
- Passion for SHE and ability to influence at a senior level and champion change/implementation at all levels.
- Able to demonstrate compliance to legislation and use of problem-solving skills/personal judgement as well as policy adherence in order to make optimum business decisions.
