About This Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and organised individual to join our multidisciplinary team as a Clinical Rehabilitation Worker at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.

As a Senior Therapy Support Worker, you will work on ward 22, a short stay rehab unit at Leicester General Hospital, carrying out treatment programmes for medical patients with a variety of conditions, under the supervision of experienced Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within a healthcare setting, ideally as a therapy assistant, and possess excellent communication skills, organisational abilities, and the ability to use their initiative.

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £25,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Main Duties:

  • Work closely with Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists on ward 22, a short stay rehab unit at Leicester General Hospital.
  • Contribute to the provision of Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Speech and Language Therapy within a specified clinical area.
  • Carry a clinical caseload discussed and delegated by the relevant team member.

Requirements:

  • GCSE English/Maths - or equivalent
  • Experience working within a team
  • Experience in a healthcare setting/previous therapy support worker role
  • Effective communication skills
  • Understanding of the role of OT/PT in an acute setting
  • Experience or understanding of patients with neurological conditions
