Job Title: Clinical Doctor (SpR) - Respiratory Medicine
Location: Medical Solutions Trust Hospital, Contract Type: Full-time, Locum (Temporary), Grade: Specialty Doctor (ST3-ST8), Reports to: Consultant in Relevant Specialty, Working Hours: As required, including on-call responsibilities, Salary: £65-£85 per hour (£73,000 - £95,000 per year)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Doctor to join our team as a Speciality Doctor in Respiratory Medicine. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory medicine and excellent clinical skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
This is an exciting opportunity for a doctor in the ST3-ST8 range to further develop their career and gain valuable experience in a leading healthcare organization. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with our consultant-led multidisciplinary teams and contribute to the development of high-quality patient care services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Care: Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with a wide range of respiratory conditions under consultant supervision, participate in ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and theatre sessions, and provide emergency care for patients.
- On-Call Duties: Participate in the on-call rota, provide emergency care for patients, and attend to emergencies in the hospital.
- Teaching and Training: Supervise and support junior doctors, contribute to teaching and education for medical students and allied health professionals, and engage in research activities relevant to the department.
- Audits and Research: Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement projects, engage in research activities relevant to the department, and maintain and develop professional skills and knowledge.
Essential Qualifications:
- Medical Degree: Hold a recognized medical degree and have full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC), with a license to practice.
- Core Medical or Surgical Training: Complete Foundation Training (FY1 and FY2) and Core Training (CT1-CT2) relevant to the specialty.
- ST3-ST8 Training Level: Be in the specialty training years (ST3-ST8) or have equivalent clinical experience in the desired specialty.
Desirable Qualifications/Experience:
- NHS Experience: Previous experience working within the NHS, particularly in the same specialty, is highly valued.
- Research and Audit Experience: Previous experience in clinical research or involvement in audit projects related to the specialty.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong Clinical Skills: Demonstrate strong clinical skills in the chosen specialty, with previous training and clinical experience.
- Teamwork: Work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, communicate clearly, and lead by example.
- Leadership and Supervision: Possess strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and support junior staff.
