About the Role

This is a key position within the Natural History Museum, responsible for delivering a range of conservation and sustainability initiatives. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of contemporary principles and practices in preventive conservation, as well as experience in managing teams and collaborating with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement conservation strategies to protect the museum's collections
  • Manage a team of preventive conservators, providing guidance and support to ensure the effective delivery of conservation projects
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the museum to ensure the integration of conservation and sustainability initiatives
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders to advance the museum's conservation and sustainability goals
Requirements
  • Proven experience in preventive conservation, with a strong understanding of contemporary principles and practices
  • Experience in managing teams and collaborating with stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues and external partners
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective conservation strategies
