Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the advancement of major trauma care in a thriving tertiary emergency department. As a Senior Clinical Teaching Fellow, you will play a key role in developing the skills of junior colleagues and working closely with a well-staffed and supportive team of 25 Consultants and 13 Registrars in Emergency Medicine at University Hospital Wales, Cardiff.

The successful candidate will spend 70% of their time in hospital and 30% on various aspects of major trauma, gaining first-hand experience and building a system dedicated to improving emergency care in Cardiff.

We are looking for GMC-registered doctors with at least 18 months' experience in Emergency Medicine as a middle grade and expertise in Paediatric Emergency Medicine, Anaesthesia, Intensive Care Medicine, and Acute General Medicine. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-quality patient care and leading a department at night with remote supervision
  • Developing and implementing quality improvement projects and contributing to governance initiatives
  • Maintaining life support provider status and being certified in ALS, APLS, or ATLS/ETC
  • Certification in MRCEM and holding an MBBS or equivalent qualification

Salary and Benefits
