About the Role:

The Priory Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Psychology to lead our psychology department at Stockton Hall Hospital. As a key member of the senior management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality psychological services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of psychology services across the hospital
  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision to the psychology team
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other healthcare professionals
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality psychological assessments and interventions
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to psychology services
  • Manage the resources of the psychology team and monitor workload and referrals
  • Support the senior management team in managing the psychology provision within established resources
  • Exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the team
  • Be involved in recruitment and selection processes for psychology and other multidisciplinary posts
  • Assess the training and development needs of staff in the psychology team and across the hospital
  • Establish systems for audit and review of services
  • Be responsible for ensuring own clinical supervision and continuing professional development

Requirements:

  • Doctoral level qualification in psychology (e.g. Clinical Psychology, Forensic Psychology)
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Experience of working in a leadership role within a healthcare setting
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality psychological services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to psychology services
