South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Authority is seeking a professional Governance Officer to support the governance and administration of the organisation. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about providing high-quality administrative support in a public sector setting.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Governance & Legal Services / Monitoring Officer to plan, book, and organise meetings, as well as provide meeting support, create meeting packs, minutes, and relevant documentation. They will also be responsible for supporting the coordination of annual reports and assessments.

This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritise and manage deadlines, and a commitment to working with confidentiality and sensitivity. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of providing administrative support in a similar context and be knowledgeable about Microsoft Office applications.

The salary for this position is £27,711 - £30,060 per annum, depending on experience, and benefits include 28 days annual leave (pro-rata), plus Bank Holidays, which increases to 32 days after 5 years service. Other benefits include a cycle-to-work scheme, a free on-site gym, enhanced maternity and paternity schemes, and the opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme.
