The Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to assist with the planning, delivery, and assessment of lessons. You will adapt activities to meet the needs of individual students and provide 1:1 and group support to pupils with special educational needs. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing support to pupils with special educational needs
  • Assisting with classroom management and the preparation of learning materials
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and fostering a safe, inclusive learning environment
  • Supporting pupils' personal and emotional development
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals
  • Helping with personal care needs where necessary
  • Contributing to the monitoring and recording of pupil progress

We are seeking an individual with experience working with children or young people, ideally in a SEN or educational setting. You should possess a patient, empathetic, and positive attitude, as well as strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils.
