Credit Controller/Financial Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Credit Controller/Financial Accountant to join our team at BDO. As a key member of our Finance team, you will play a crucial role in managing the risk surrounding our revenue flow and ensuring the effective operation of our firm.
Key Responsibilities- Enforce consistent BDO credit control procedures to ensure timely and accurate debt collection.
- Actively chase all debt within the allotted portfolio, using appropriate means to update stakeholders as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client notes following conversations with clients, using Workday to record status.
- Ensure consistent application of the firm's debt provisioning policy to minimize adjustments to the debtors ledger.
- Identify problem debts that require escalation and liaise with the Credit Control Manager as necessary.
- Engage and manage the process of debts that need to go legal, working closely with the accounts receivable team to ensure effective and accurate allocation.
- Provide client base with monthly statements of account as required.
- Process Credit Notes assigned in an accurate and timely manner.
- Involvement in credit checks on existing/new clients as necessary before new work is agreed/commenced.
- Professional services experience, ideally in a credit control or financial accounting role.
- Workday experience would be preferred.
- Excel skills to a competent level.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate individuals and deal professionally with performance issues.
