Salary: £27,000 - £36,000 per annum basic

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for responding to workshop garage equipment breakdowns, diagnosing and rectifying equipment issues, and ensuring customers are compliant and productive.

You will be working on customer equipment such as car lifts, MOT testing equipment, air compressors, wheel alignment, tyre changers, wheel balancers, and a range of other automotive equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Carry out diagnostic/repair and installation on a wide range of garage equipment products.
  2. Completion and submission of accurate paperwork as required.
  3. Compliance and adherence to laws and regulations covering Health and Safety within the workplace.
  4. Ensuring control of own van stock to meet first time fix targets.
  5. Satisfaction of customer needs.
  6. The continued development of skills required ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard.
  7. Prepared for occasional overnight stays from home.
  8. Prepared to work overtime when required.
Requirements:
  1. Good level of education, ideally with relevant trade qualifications in a related discipline.
  2. To have good working knowledge and experience of activities in a field service environment.
  3. Experience in working with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment, preferably garage equipment.
  4. Able to understand and follow procedures and work instructions, working to specified standards.
  5. Proven ability to deliver excellent quality of service to customers.
  6. To be flexible and willing to work overtime and Saturdays as requested.
  7. To be self-motivated.
  8. Customer focussed.
  9. Confident and able to work under own initiative.
  10. Excellent communication skills – dealing with colleagues and customers at all levels.
  11. Knowledge of the region's geography and road network would be a distinct advantage.
  12. Full clean UK driving licence is essential.
