Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Supervisor to join our team at DP World.

About the Role
  • This role oversees business operations, delegating tasks to team members and resolving problems that occur on their shift.
  • The Operations Supervisor will operate across a rotating shift pattern of 8am-4.30pm / 12pm-8.30pm / 4pm-12.30am Mon-Fri.
Responsibilities
  1. Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities: Ensure all employees understand the need for safe working practices and adhere to site H&S procedures.
  2. Corrective Actions: Identify and implement corrective actions for issues arising that affect departmental KPIs and specify process improvements to enhance operational performance.
  3. Representative Functions: Represent the department at internal and external customer meetings, communicate departmental shift issues and performance at team briefs, and attend team board reviews and board walks.
  4. Manpower Resource Management: Manage manpower resource effectively to support customer delivery requirements and drive company Absence Control Procedures to ensure maximum attendance levels.
  5. Process Standardization: Manage the development and maintenance of accurate Standard Work documentation and continually audit employees against the standard to drive process consistency.
  6. Training Needs Identification: Identify departmental training needs using company training processes and capture all training with sign-off documentation.
  7. Quality Objectives: Drive Departmental Quality objectives, complete full PPS activity, and Root Cause Analysis for any Premium Freight, scrap costs, or stock losses.
  8. Engineering Support: Assist production in engineering changes, production trials, model change, and pilot build.
  9. Customer Proposal Development: Support in developing concepts for use in formal customer proposals, including process flow diagrams, KPIs, and facility layouts.
  10. Organisational Vision and Strategy: Collaborate with the Senior Management Team in setting and driving organisational vision, Operations strategy, and hiring levels.
  11. Operational Supervision: Supervise company operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture that ensures team members can thrive and meet organisational goals.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong experience in leading a diverse team with a hands-on approach.
  • Two or more years of experience in supervisory roles within a fast-paced logistics operation.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
  • Understanding of business planning and reporting.
  • Solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics.
