Telecommunications Systems Specialist

Job Title: Telecommunications Systems Specialist


Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum


This role is a key part of our West Midlands Metro infrastructure team. As a Telecommunications Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our signalling and telecommunications equipment.



  • Maintenance and repair of signalling and telecommunications equipment
  • Ensuring inspection and maintenance tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • Oversight of contractors carrying out planned works on signalling and telecommunications equipment
  • Assisting in test and commissioning of new systems
  • Night shift work to perform maintenance and repair work as required

Requirements:



  • A good working knowledge of electrical/mechanical systems
  • Recognised Electrical Qualification at Level 3 or above
  • Experience in the use of computer-based diagnostic equipment
  • Demonstrable computer literacy and writing skills
  • The ability to read and understand electrical schematics
  • A full driving license
  • City and Guilds Inspection and Periodic Inspection
  • Any experience in fibre and data maintenance, repair and installation
