About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Officer to join our team in Cardiff. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in supporting children with emotional behavior disorder and/or complex needs in one of our active services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people
  • Ensure an inclusive and fair environment for a diversity of backgrounds, situations, and abilities
  • Adhere to personal care plans, assessing the needs and goals of each placement
  • Adopt strict health and safety practices to ensure the wellbeing of the children and young people
  • Build rapport and empower children to reach their potential
  • Build strong relationships with families
  • Produce and maintain accurate record keeping in accordance with GDPR
  • Carry out elements of personal care if required
Requirements
  • Child-centred approach to care
  • Positive attitude to care
  • Previous experience in children's social care or a transferrable skill role is desirable
  • Full UK driving licence
  • NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care is desirable, but you have the option to work towards it
  • Basic understanding of children's human rights and safeguarding is essential
  • Experience working within a multi-agency environment is desirable
  • Self-motivation and determination to grow and succeed together
  • Enhanced DBS check (Update Service DBS' desirable for swifter onboarding)
