Key Responsibilities:

Admission and review of patients in the emergency department is a critical aspect of this role. It involves assessing patients' conditions, determining the best course of treatment, and coordinating care with other healthcare professionals.

Team Support

Supporting the team in outpatients clinics and follow-up appointments is also a key responsibility. This may involve assisting with patient consultations, reviewing medical records, and communicating with patients and their families.

Clinical Audit and Research

Participation in clinical audit within the unit is essential to ensure high standards of care. This may involve reviewing patient outcomes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing changes to care pathways.

Training and Supervision

Active involvement in the training and supervision of junior medical staff and medical students is also a key aspect of this role. This may involve mentoring junior doctors, providing feedback and guidance, and supporting their professional development.

Personal Qualities

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. They will also have a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and a willingness to participate in clinical audit and research activities.

DBS Clearance

Depending on the level of exposure to patients, the successful candidate may be required to undergo Standard or Enhanced DBS clearance. This is a requirement for all staff working with vulnerable patients.
