The Opportunity

Our client, a leading Engineering Consultancy specializing in the petrochemical sector, is seeking a Lead/Principal Instrumentation Engineer to join their team and take the lead in one of their major projects. This role involves leading a team of engineers to produce designs for medium/large scale infrastructure projects in the chemical or petrochemical sector, communicating across multi-disciplined teams to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage the full project lifecycle, including conceptual studies, FEED, and detailed design phases.
  2. Develop Control & Instrument Engineering deliverables on a project-by-project basis.
  3. Communicate effectively with the client and project management team.
  4. Have or work towards Chartered Engineer status as a Member of the Institute of Measurement and Control (IMC) or Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
  5. Experience in Instrument Engineering Design on medium/large capital projects from concept to start-up.
  6. Extensive experience in the Chemical, Petrochemical, and Oil & Gas industries.
  7. Competence in project execution using selected design tools and techniques.
  8. Competence in specification, technical bid analysis, and requisitioning of Field Instrumentation and Analysers.
  9. Competence in the application, specification, and requisitioning of DCS, PLC, and SIS systems, with experience in the system's full lifecycle.
  10. Competence in the specification/design/implementation of Hazardous Area Instrumentation (ATEX).
  11. Competence in Instrumentation and Control requirements for Mechanical packages.
  12. Competence in the sizing of flow devices/control valves/relief devices.
