Job Opportunity: Lecturer in Carpentry

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lecturer in Carpentry to join our School of Construction and Building Services at South Essex College of Further & Higher Education.

As a Lecturer in Carpentry, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our students, helping them to develop the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver City & Guilds (Level 1 & Level 2) qualifications in Carpentry
  • Develop and implement engaging and effective teaching materials and resources
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Contribute to the development of the School's curriculum and assessment strategies
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve departmental and college-wide goals

Requirements:

  • Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Carpentry
  • Previous experience delivering Carpentry courses up to level 2
  • Broad range of knowledge of the construction industry
  • Experience working with young people of varying abilities to develop their confidence
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one
  • Assessors and IQA qualifications or willingness to work towards one
  • Health & Safety qualification or relevant experience
  • Relevant industry/professional experience within the relevant sector
  • Knowledge of current developments in relevant vocational area
