Job Title: Security Officer

Location:

Reporting to: Manager

Pay Rate: £ per hour

Hours: Hours per week

This role is the public face of the Security Team. A professional attitude is essential in this highly influential position. You must ensure exemplary standards of Security and Customer Service are always provided to the client and visitors to the site.

Key Responsibilities

Interact with all visitors/tenants within the shopping centre, delivering first-class customer-focused service

Provide daily cleaning needs to the centre and assist the cleaning team as required

Carry out regular patrols of the shopping centre as detailed in the site assignment instructions, being proactive

Continuously look for opportunities to assist visitors at the shopping centre, proactively helping wherever opportunities arise

Safeguard all sites to ensure a safe and non-threatening environment for all visitors/tenants

Manage incidents in accordance with site policies and procedures

Liaise with the site control room, proactively reacting to incidents and ensuring colleagues are fully briefed and supported

Report any unsecure areas of the site to the Control Room immediately and take action to resolve

Record/log all non-conformances and emergencies with the appropriate control room operatives

Deal efficiently and effectively with all emergencies, keeping the Centre team informed

Demonstrate an intelligent understanding of human behaviour, monitoring and surveillance of suspect individuals, logging, and reporting incidents in line with site/company policies

Maintain vigilance and manage unauthorised access by banned individuals

Adhere to radio procedures

Record all events/incidents in the Security Officer notebook correctly and adhere to notebook policies

Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business

Ensure a timely response to all security issues and events

Complete all training requirements as requested by the line manager

Be available to cover at least one additional shift per month if requested to cover absence/annual leave

Liaise closely with the Environmental Services team, delivering one service and highlighting opportunities in working as one team

Requirements

Be professional, pleasant, friendly, courteous, and helpful while carrying out duties to the highest standard

Adopt a one-team approach

Take ownership of all situations to ensure tasks are completed or escalated when necessary

Stay motivated, aim high, and achieve

Respect all staff and visitors within the shopping centre

Qualifications

Front Line DS License Preferred

CCTV License Preferred
