Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is partnering with a thriving and inclusive large academy in North Sheffield to find a passionate and experienced Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCO) to join their dynamic team on a 12-month contract.
About the Role:The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities, ensuring they receive the tailored support they need to thrive academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage the provision for students with SEND across the academy.
- Develop and implement effective strategies to support students with diverse needs.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Provide training and guidance to staff on best practices for inclusive education.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and maintain accurate records.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEND provision and make necessary adjustments.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a recognised SENDCO qualification.
- Proven experience in a SENDCO role or similar, preferably within a large educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively and lead a team.
- Commitment to promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
