Job Title: Teaching Assistant - SEMH Support

We are seeking a highly qualified support staff member to work with students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with teachers to create and deliver activities, developing a holistic approach to meeting SEMH needs, and establishing therapeutic relationships with students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with teachers to create and deliver activities that meet the needs of students with SEMH
  • Develop a holistic approach to meeting SEMH needs, working with teachers, other support staff, families, and external agencies
  • Establish therapeutic relationships with students and interact with them according to individual needs
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans, Risk Assessments, Personal Care and Therapy Care programmes for a designated group/form
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with students with SEN or a willingness to work with children with SEN
  • Good knowledge of SEN and a passion to develop
  • Able to manage challenging behaviour
  • Able to commit to working fixed days - full or part time
  • Has a clear and valid DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
  • Have relevant training to support students with learning difficulties
  • Able to commute to Stewkley and the surrounding areas
