About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Assistant Psychologist to join our team at Cygnet Aspen House, a 20-bed hospital service specialising in high support inpatient rehabilitation for women with severe and enduring mental illness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver weekly psychology groups as part of the multidisciplinary team
  • Develop and update START risk assessments to ensure patient safety
  • Provide one-to-one support to inpatients, promoting their psychological well-being
  • Administer and score psychological tests and assessments to inform treatment plans
  • Co-produce formulations with patients to understand their needs and goals
  • Draft reports to communicate patient progress and recommendations
  • Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure comprehensive care
  • Participate in regular weekly supervision to reflect on practice and improve skills
Requirements
  • Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (GMBPsS)
  • Minimum of 6 months previous paid work experience as an Assistant Psychologist in a hospital or healthcare setting
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Prior knowledge or experience of DBT, CBT, and third-wave therapies
  • Good IT skills to manage administrative tasks
