About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Heritage Consultant to join our team at Workingmums. As a Senior Heritage Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering a range of projects within the built environment sector, working with a diverse range of clients and in various national and regional historic contexts.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Project Management: Manage and undertake a wide range of historic environment projects to time and budget, ensuring high-quality delivery and client satisfaction.
  2. Business Development: Prepare fee proposals, set budgets, and maintain project finance, where required, to drive business growth and revenue.
  3. Client Engagement: Provide informed, expert advice to clients and colleagues in relation to potential heritage constraints and opportunities, feeding into concept/design proposals.
  4. Methodology Development: Negotiate effective methodologies and proportionate scopes of desk-based and field-based work to meet client needs.
  5. Site Inspections: Participate in site inspections and visual analyses to inform project delivery.
  6. Heritage Document Preparation: Prepare authoritative and robust heritage documents in support of planning applications, including heritage statements and DBAs, to a high standard.
  7. Business Planning: Undertake business planning and marketing of SLR's heritage services to drive business growth and revenue.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Heritage Consultant with a proven track record in a comparable role. You will have a relevant degree-level (or higher) heritage-based qualification, or a demonstrably equivalent level of experience and/or accreditation. You will also have thorough knowledge of the UK planning system with respect to heritage, including current and emerging legislation, planning policy, and guidance.

You will have a strong ability to communicate well with colleagues, clients, and consultees, and to relay complex information in an authoritative, intelligible, and effective way. Membership of CIfA, IHBC, or similar professional accreditation is preferable or working towards.

A full driving license and willingness to travel are essential for this role.
