We are seeking a skilled and experienced Operating Department Practitioner to join our Anaesthetics team at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the smooth operation of our theatre department.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in the evaluation of stock levels and ordering/unpacking supplies.
- Act as the patient's advocate, ensuring their safety, well-being, and dignity.
- Assess patient anxiety or discomfort and provide advice, reassurance, or other necessary actions.
- Participate in patient safety initiatives as directed by the Theatre Services Operational Manager and Senior Practitioners.
- Uphold patient confidentiality at all times and in all situations.
- Provide accurate and timely patient information onto the Theatre Management System.
We are looking for an individual with:
- DipHE Operating Department Practice or equivalent.
- Essential criteria: Pass in DipHE Operating Department Practice, Anaesthetic based post, Full time, RGN / or ODP with City & Guilds 752, NVQ (ODP) Level 3, or Diploma in Higher Education in Operating department Practice. NMC or HCPC registration.
- Desirable criteria: MSPP/ENB998, Experience in Operating Department Practice/ peri- operative setting, Counselling skills, Post registration education Knowledge of research and audit.
