About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Buyer to join our team at Nicholas Associates Graduate Placements. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing relationships with suppliers, coordinating promotional activity, and negotiating pricing and promotional funding.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure seamless business operations.
  2. Promotional Activity Coordination: Work closely with internal departments to coordinate promotional activities and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  3. Negotiation and Pricing: Negotiate pricing and promotional funding with suppliers to maximize availability and prices.
  4. Range Management: Oversee the management of product ranges to ensure optimal stock levels and pricing.
  5. Market Analysis: Analyze sales, suppliers, and market trends to inform business decisions.
  6. Order Placement: Place orders for all depots using sound commercial reasoning to ensure maximum availability and prices.
  7. Stock Management: Manage stockholding and exercise influence over suppliers during stock shortages.
  8. Quality Control: Ensure timely completion of tasks with high attention to detail and proof promotional brochures for correct imagery, pricing, and PORs.
  9. Supplier Claims: Track and claim retrospective monies from suppliers for funded promotions.
  10. Internal Liaison: Liaise with depots and other internal departments regarding category matters.
About You

We are looking for a candidate with a passion for Buying, Sales, or Category Management. The ideal candidate will have outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, as well as a high level of attention to detail. They will be able to build relationships internally and externally using effective influencing skills and be a strong and effective negotiator. A quick learner with a proactive approach to work is essential.
