Job Title: Band 5/6 Radiographer, Radiology

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic radiographer to join our team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be based at Harefield Hospital and will be responsible for enhancing their current skills and developing further skills in CT and Cardiac Catheter Labs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radiography and will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills. They will be required to work well with an interdisciplinary team and promote effective working practices.

The role is rotational between General Imaging, CT scanning, and Cardiac Catheter Labs. The successful candidate will be expected to work to short deadlines and have a flexible approach to workload.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Enhance current skills and develop further skills in CT and Cardiac Catheter Labs
  • Work well with an interdisciplinary team and promote effective working practices

Requirements:
  • BSc Hons in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent
  • State Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council UK
  • Evidence of post graduate study
  • Evidence of multidisciplinary team working
  • Experience in Emergency Department Imaging
  • Experience in student supervision
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
  • Experience in supervision and training of junior Radiographers
  • Experience in CT scanning and interventional imaging
  • NHS experience

  • Working knowledge of IR(ME)R 2017 & IRR 2017
  • Ability to work using own initiative but also to know when to seek support and guidance
  • Be able to operate manual handling aids as provided by the Department including patient slide boards, sheets, hoists, and trolleys
  • Be able to operate and move full range of radiographic equipment including overcouch tubes, mobile Image Intensifiers with monitors, and mobile x-ray machines (motorised and non-motorised)
  • Evidence of leadership skills
  • Evidence of audit or involvement in clinical governance
  • Understanding of 'Pause & Check' Procedures
