About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Research Funding Officer to join our Research Directorate team at Diabetes UK. As a key member of our research funding team, you will play a crucial role in delivering our research strategy goals and funding exciting and life-changing diabetes research.

Main Responsibilities
  • Administer and manage the entire grants management life cycle, both pre- and post-award.
  • Deliver rigorous grant funding processes, ensuring gold standard governance processes for funding are implemented.
  • Communicate with applicants and stakeholders throughout the grant management process, providing professional and timely support.
  • Become proficient in using our grant management system, including building application forms, setting up funding rounds, and troubleshooting.
  • Involve people affected by diabetes in various funding schemes and organize annual networking events for PhD-funded students and fellows.
Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an individual with a strong interest in scientific and clinical research, a BSc in biomedical sciences or life sciences, and excellent organizational and time management skills. You will be an excellent communicator, able to build confident working relationships at all levels, and have the ability to network and liaise with scientific, clinical, research, and expert-by-experience communities.
